The recorder is a member of the woodwind family.
In wood or plastic, it is mainly used in primary and secondary schools and has the advantage of being democratically priced compared with other instruments.

Several models are available: sopranino, soprano, alto, bass and double bass. The most common and that used by beginner musicians is the soprano, which you will also find at ARCHETS (Baroque or German fingering).
